Coffee roasted on Tuesdays, bread baked before sunrise.

A neighbourhood café on Marlow Yard. Slow mornings, butter pastries and a table kept for you by the window.

We started with one oven and a second-hand roaster.

Brew & Bean opened in 2016 in a former bicycle workshop. Mara baked, Tomas roasted, and the first regulars wandered in for the smell alone.

Today we still bake in small batches, buy beans straight from growers we have visited, and cook from whatever the market has that week. Nothing is rushed, and nobody minds if you stay for a second cup.

  • 6 am first loaves out of the oven
  • 3 farms supply our current beans
  • 0 microwaves in the kitchen

What regulars say

I came for the croissant and stayed for three hours with a book. This is the café I wish I had on every street.

Imani R., Saturday regular

The cardamom latte is dangerous. I now plan my commute around it.

Dev P., neighbour

Booked a table for my mum's birthday. They added a candle without being asked.

Hannah L., first-timer
